We have the most down-to-earth fun clients. Joyce and James are no exception. The first thing that I noticed about Joyce is that she has the best sense of humor and loves to laugh -- a lot, just like me. Heehee.

Joyce and James were married under a gorgeous old oak tree at Castlewood Country Club in Pleasanton. We started off at the Rose Hotel for Joyce's getting ready shots. The surprise lion dance performance was a major hit, and all of the guests had an amazing time. We were super busy snapping shots of everyone having a great time. Instead of the standard guest book, the guests signed a special wedding themed snowboard!

I had the pleasure of meeting Nick when we worked together at the Six Apart office in San Francisco. Nick's smarts and talents really shined through. When Nick brought Chenin over to our office, I instantly liked her -- she's so warm, intelligent, and you could just tell that she's a great woman. They're both so lucky to have each other! I was so happy when they chose us as their wedding photographers. A photographer as well, Nick definitely knows the ins and outs of good photography.

Because he's finishing up his MBA, Nick and Chenin currently live in NYC, and I just happened to be there in December. We got together for an incredibly fun yet chilly (25 degrees) engagement session in Soho, Times Square, and finished off in the always gorgeous Central Park. Chenin and Nick were true troopers for dealing with the cold weather, and I had such a great time getting to know them. Of course, that's really the point of an engagement session, so that I can get to know a couple and also so that they can feel comfortable with me on their wedding day.

I'm looking forward to their wedding in June!

Lissa and Curtis met while they were students at UC Berkeley, and you might remember them from their UC Berkeley engagement session earlier this year. They're one of our most creative and fun couples and were married at the beautiful Brazilian Room inside Tilden Park in Berkeley. They had a fantastic "Sumo vs. Godzilla" wedding theme with the most amazing details like sumo wrestler and godzilla ties, cake toppers, cuff links, and a super fun themed photobooth.

When I first met Remy and Neal, we instantly clicked. They have the best vibe and great energy -- so positive, hip, cool, and all around super nice people. You can't be any cooler than owning your own clothing company either!

This year the most popular and luckiest day to get married was 08.08.08, and Remy and Neal liked to refer to their wedding as The Real 08.08.08. They even had a huge wood sign with those words branded on it. Following the beautiful ceremony at the San Jose Basilica, I took Remy and Neal over to the San Jose Museum of Art for a few quick portraits.

Then we were off to the San Jose City Hall Rotunda for the amazing, American Gothic styled reception, complete with checkered red and white table clothes, gorgeous sunflower arrangements, and little seedling favors -- everything was completely fresh and different, just like Remy and Neal.

Ray and I had the honor of shooting Jess and Pontus' wedding back in July at the Conservatory of Flowers here in San Francisco. Luckily we weren't foiled by the July fog and we had a gorgeous blue sky that day.

Jess and Pontus chose to have an intimate photo session before their wedding in Golden Gate Park including the DeYoung Museum and a gorgeous fern grove that looked absolutely prehistoric and wondrous.

They had friends and family fly in from Sweden, England, and Hong Kong to watch them tie the knot. The interior of the Conservatory of Flowers is such a great place for a champagne reception. Where else can you sip champagne with gorgeous tropical plants surrounding you?

The dinner reception took place in the amazing Yank Sing restaurant. Jess changed into a traditional Chinese wedding dress for their "First Look" inside Yank Sing. I just love the look of expectation on Pontus' face when he saw her.

This morning I got a call from a gal working on a British TV show, Richard and Judy. They're going to feature some of our Trash the Dress session photos on their show later this month. Yay for us!
